Summary:
To serve and provide exceptional service and hospitality to every guest in the restaurant while participating in team work ensuring absolute guest satisfaction.
Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
Thoroughly knowledgeable in all aspects of BJ's menu, handcrafted beers, wine list, specialty drinks and prices and can make recommendations.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Service Executiono Perform station opening/closing duties each shifto Greet guest within 2 minutes.
Follow all Service Execution Stepso Has thorough knowledge of food and beverage menuo Make suggestions and give guests optionso Describe and recommend wine selectionso Describe and recommend BJ's beer selectionso Handle POS system quickly and efficientlyo Clears tables throughout the dining experience using proper methods for removing dishes, glassware and silverware Maintains table cleanliness throughout mealo Speak to guests to ensure satisfaction with food, drinks and serviceo Present bills, accept payments, operates POS systemo Able to respond to guest complaintsOperational Executiono Check identification of guests in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcoholo Uphold strict cash handling procedures and be accountable for all transactions dailyo Able to prioritizeo Maintain personal health and sanitation standardso Review work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve service, performance and safety.
o Maintain clean uniform and understands that he/she is always on stageo Attendance in mandatory meetings , training and workshopso Ensure 100% compliance with all Company policies and laws, including health and safety standardso Ensure compliance with BJ's Code of Ethics, Integrity and Conduct, BJ's Seven C's, and BJ's Principles of Professional ServiceNecessary Skills and Requirements:
o Must be 18 years of age or older or 21 years of age or older where required by lawo High volume, casual dining restaurant experienceo Ability to work in a fast paced environmento Excellent organization and problem solving skillso Mature judgment in handling all matterso Good communication skillso Ability to absorb and retain information quicklyo Able to memorize drink recipes to ensure speed and accuracy for guestso Experience working in a team orientated environmento Essential hand/eye coordinationo Knowledge of principles for dealing directly with the publico Ability to handle cash, give change and balance cash drawer at the end of shifto Standing and walking during entire 8 hour shifto Lifts and carries supplies, cases and kegs up to 50 lbso Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, shakes, stirs, pours and carrieso Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writingo Understanding of restaurant POS systemo Ability to speak, read and write EnglishProof of eligibility to work in the U.
